Montana Arts Interscholastics
MAI (Montana Art Interscholastics) is a yearly gathering of high school students, from across the state that have a strong interest in art. Here the students experience varied art workshops in unique media of their choice and get to spend some creative time with likeminded individuals.
Philosophy: Montana Art Interscholastics is an art-oriented experience which expands the participants knowledge and awareness of the visual arts.
Goals:
1. To provide an experience which stimulates interaction between art students from areas outside their own communities.
2. To provide an experience which allows students to meet and work with professional artists.
3. To provide an experience which offers an opportunity for students to experiment with new art skills.
4. To provide an experience which encourages students to exhibit their art work and view the work of fellow students.
5. To provide an experience which exposes the students to formal critiques of their work.
6. To provide an experience which contributes to the professional growth of the teachers through exposure to fellow teachers, fellow artists, and students from other communities.
